A celebration for some and perhaps a revelation for others, it's an inspiring journey or resilience and renewal.

Right now I’m busy writing a non-fiction book based on my talk, Hair Apparent – A Voyage Around My Roots, with plans to press on with my novel, An Italian Education (Diary of a Black girl in Chianti) later in the year. This book is a fictionalised version of my time as an assistente inglese in a school in Siena back in the 70s when as a lone black girl I had to fight my corner both in and out of the classroom; Around the edges of all this I’ve got a couple of projects for children’s books that I’m quietly gestating. While keeping up with friends in the US and Italy I absolutely cherish my family and friends closer to home who never stop inspiring me.
